WOODLAND
The grounds and woodland walks are a particular
feature at Chycara and can give endless pleasure for
walking, jogging or just to take in the tranquillity of
the countryside.
A new boardwalk is under construction in the semi-natural broad-leaved woodland to create a circular walk linked to the existing paths in the planted area. Viewing platforms will be constructed near the stream with interpretation boards to highlight interesting wildlife at the site.
WILDLIFE
There is a badger set in the top field and a wild mink
has been spotted on two occasions. The two small
lakes play host to an annual visit by breeding pairs of
moorhens and mallards and these will be especially
enjoyed by children from the spring onwards. There is an abundance of birdlife
including owls and Chycara is a
marvellous base to see all
these in this natural setting. |
